Supported Independent Living (SIL) is NDIS funding for help with everyday tasks at home, such as personal care, cooking and household tasks, so you can live as independently as possible in a shared home with support available when you need it. SIL pays for the support you receive, not for the house itself.
What SIL support includes
Support in a SIL home can include personal care, meal preparation, transport to medical appointments, building life skills and finding ways to get involved in your local community. The aim is to help each person do as much as they can for themselves.
Is SIL in every plan?
No. SIL is not included in every NDIS plan. The NDIA decides what goes in your plan based on your support needs and goals. If you are thinking about SIL, call us on 1800 511 411 and our team can talk you through the process.
